2018 Classes start
|January (AM) -||14, 28|
|January (PM) -||14, 31|
The course curriculum is designed to provide qualified individuals with an opportunity to acquire the knowledge, training, and skills, which will enable them to become experienced, safe, and competent practitioners of Surgical Technology.
To become certified, VCMC graduates–enrolled in the course program–must successfully complete the Examination conducted by the National Board of Surgical Technologists and Surgical Assistants, (NBSTSA), formerly the Liaison Council for Certification of Surgical Technologists (LCC-ST). Completion of the General Education requirements, for the AOS Degree program, may help students transfer to a higher level of educational experience. With a higher education and experience level, graduates have the potential to advance in their career with higher wages and better benefits. The award of transfer credit is at the discretion of other institutions and is not guaranteed.
The program includes mandatory participation in a 600-hour Surgical Technology Externship that must be completed prior to graduation.
